UPTET 2026 : Eligibility Criteria

TET Primary Teacher (Class 1-5)	Bachelor’s degree from an NCTE-recognized institution. Valid teacher training qualification (e.g., BTC, B.El.Ed). Final-year candidates are eligible. Minimum 50% marks in graduation or training program generally required.
TET Upper Primary Teacher (Class 6-8)	Bachelor’s degree with at least 50% marks (45% in some cases). From an NCTE-recognized institution. Valid teacher training qualification (e.g., B.Ed, BTC, B.El.Ed). Final-year candidates of these courses are eligible. Candidates with specialized education qualifications from RCI-recognized institutes are eligible. Candidates with 50% marks in intermediate and a 4-year integrated teaching program can also apply in some cases.
